Koh Samui Overview

Koh Samui is perfect for those who want a beach destination holiday with everything in walking distance.

Chaweng Beach is the area to stay. The local free beach is a long stretch of sand which runs parallel to the main road. So all the hotels are close to the beach. There are loads of restaurants you will be spoilt for choice, some high end western owned some small and local. You have everything most places even do set menus.

There is a night market and foodcourt in Samui but compared to other night markets in Thailand they are expensive (for travellers, not if your on holiday)

The nightlife is great a whole road full of clubs, Hush (RnB), Green Mango (Super Club), Stadium (After Party) and so many more. They all have different promotions on to get everyone inside. My favourite are the buckets, they last long (well longish) and work out cheaper then a double most times.

If you want to be really close to the nightlife make sure your near Arc in Chaweng Beach. You can hire a bike from loads of places the bike cost’s 150 baht for 24hrs. We only used the bike to visit Big Bhudda and Waterfall 1. If you want to buy any thai clothes the cheapest place in Samui is at waterfall 1 and you can negotiate the price.

The massages in Samui are cheaper at 200baht for an hour thai massage and 250baht for an hour oil massage. Thai massages are painful be warned the thai woman walks all over you!

Fishermans village is really nice on a evening to have a mooch around the shops and there are lots of fancyrestaurants  so if your not on a budget deffinately go there to eat!
