Koh Phangan Review

Koh Phangan is a bigger island with lots of cars on the road. Hiring a bike is the main method of transport and the average bike costs 200baht per day.  The pier is in Thongsala and to get a jeepney to the other side of the island (Thong Nai Pan) it costs 200baht per person.

There is loads to do on the island you could party every night if you wanted. Its the party island of Thailand. You have the waterfall party, jungle party, full moon, half moon and eden garden party to name just a few. The hostels are crazy they provide pub crawls and always pump out music.

There are loads of restaurants all over the island. The traditional thai restaurants are very cheap which is great you can have a feast for so little. Pad thai 60baht, spring rolls 50baht, red curry 60baht, rice 20baht, juice shake 30baht.

The night market in Thongsala is again very cheap and the pad thai stand is amazing. Its 60 baht for either chicken, sea food or prawn pad thai wrapped in egg and its a big tasty portion! Oh and of course I had mango sticky rice for pudding you either love it or you hate it and I love it!

The best beaches on the island are Haad Rin and Thong Nai Pan. The sea is crystal clear with little waves and the sand is soft and white.

I loved Koh Phangan and this is by far my favourite place in Thailand. If you want to do chilled you can and if you want to party you can best of both, cheap food and beautiful beaches.
