Florence

Where to start with Florence. I haven't really travelled much of Europe well I haven't really visited Italy properly before. So this time I was taken a back. It was amazing. I have travelled solo three times before but being a solo traveller in Italy was a piece of cake. I loved it, it was so relaxing as I could do what I want, when I want and I also made some friends along the way. Being on my own doesn't phase me and I still google the best places to go and visit being on my own... even the restaurants!

My favourite moment was walking to the Florence Cathedral and just staring at the architecture honestly for a good 40 minuets. Amazing is an understatement. The cathedral is so detailed and so high it makes you wonder how many people helped to build it. This is a major tourist sight and you can go inside but the queue is miles long and you would be waiting all day. So I didn't go inside.

Just around the corner from the cathedral is a Magnum ice cream shop. Quite a cool idea especially for on a summers day. Its $5 so quite expensive at £4.50 an ice cream but there super cute and taste really nice.

Florence is a nice town as you can pretty much walk everywhere with lots to see. You can take a stroll by the water, stroll in town near all the shops or you can view the city at Piazzale Michelangelo.

Ponte Vecchio is famous for all the jewellery shops along the river its bustling with people and when you walk over the bridges you just feel instantly happy.

The best things to do when visiting Florence:
Florence Cathedral
Palazzo Vecchio
Ponte Vecchio
Basilica of Santa Croce
Piazzale Michelangelo
Baptistery of St. John
Basilica di San Lorenzo
Piazza della Signoria
Boboli Gardens
Bargello Museum
